KG Gives Back
We feel extremely privileged to work in a business that we enjoy and in an encouraging and caring environment. This atmosphere—and the motivation to succeed that’s derived from it—is one of the defining characteristics of our public relations agency.
As a team, we also feel that it’s important for us to give back. It is so easy to forget those who need our help the most—which is why we decided to start the “KG Gives Back” program. It’s simple—each month (on average), Ketner Group will pledge to make a financial donation to a different organization seeking to make a positive impact. Each team member will have a voice in which charities we will donate to each month, and we will always provide brief overviews as to why we decided to donate to each cause.
“KG Gives Back” is our way of reminding ourselves, and others, that help is needed around the world 365 days of the year—not just during the holidays or after a crisis. It is our hope that we challenge ourselves, our family and friends to be more proactive in making a difference to those who need a caring hand—whether in your own city or halfway around the world.
See below for a list and description of some of the organizations we’ve donated to in the past and links to where you can donate as well.
Audubon Nature Institute—Oil Spill Relief
The Audubon Nature Institute is a family of ten museums and parks based in New Orleans, Louisiana dedicated to nature. In response to the Gulf Coast Oil Spill, the Audubon Nature Institute set up the “Oil Spill Recovery Fund.” The fund will directly impact the future of endangered sea turtles and marine mammals along Louisiana’s coast. Ketner Group chose to donate to the Oil Spill Recovery Fund because we feel that the preservation of nature is important. The oil spill was a tragic event and we wanted to make sure that we helped protect the marine life that is so important to the residents of Louisiana and the region as a whole.
More InformationLong Hollow Baptist Church
In response to the the 2010 flooding in Nashville, Long Hollow Baptist Church set up a fund dedicated to aiding the relief efforts. Long Hollow has three church locations just North of Nashville in Sumner County, Tennessee. Ketner Group chose to donate to Long Hollow because we have many industry friends that live in the Nashville area. After hearing about the devastation that the flooding caused to so many, including the historical Grand Ol Opry, we decided to donate to the church’s efforts. A year later, Nashville seems to be on its way to recovering, but help is still needed.
