Nashville Account Executive

We’re looking for a motivated and dynamic team member for our Nashville office. Candidates must be passionate about PR, writing and media relations. The role of Account Executive (AE) is highly engaged in client relationships and will report to the Director of Nashville. An AE on our team should be a team player, but also be highly dependable to adhere to timelines on an individual basis. Ketner Group looks to its AEs to help execute on our PR campaign strategies, tactics and reporting.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in PR. You have direct experience in PR, preferably with an agency, and are confident pitching trade and national media contacts.
  • Articulate. You possess strong written and verbal communication skills. You may have a tendency to over-communicate; you can clearly articulate the status of campaign activities to clients. You have demonstrated content development experience, including drafting blogs, press releases, byline articles and case studies.
  • A diligent researcher. You have fabulous research skills and can effectively find appropriate media contacts, collect supporting data for copywriting, identify client award and event opportunities, and conduct client competitor research.
  • Independent. You are a motivated learner who wants new experiences and is ready to work independently. You are highly self-accountable, self-motivated and proactive in staying on task with daily activities, which are often fluctuating based on client needs. You’re a great fire fighter.
  • Technical. You want to know why things work the way they do; you’re curious about technology and love finding ways to communicate technically challenging ideas.
  • Highly attentive to small details. You get excited about finding an extra space between two words in a paragraph. You’re highly organized and can manage multiple assignments while hitting deadlines.
  • Bold. You aren’t intimidated by technical language and new markets. You’re able to learn quickly and adapt to our team’s committed, yet laid-back work culture. You’re comfortable actively participating in internal meetings and team brainstorms.

What You Will Do:

  • Help account supervisors and directors to develop fresh, new campaign ideas.
  • Take ownership of client PR reporting and client updates.
  • Serve as a reliable contact in client communications.
  • Execute strong media relations and PR campaigns, with even more emphasis on top tier media outreach, as well as ongoing proactive pitching and management.
  • Cultivate existing and new media relationships in industry verticals, top tier, national press.
  • Write content pieces, including press releases, byline articles, case studies, as well as long form content such as e-books and white papers.
  • Execute on social media tactics for clients as needed.
  • Support the executive team on new business initiatives and proposals.
  • Participate in and take the lead on internal meetings and team brainstorms.

  • Contribute to Ketner Group marketing efforts such as social media, blogging, newsletter, website and/or advertising initiatives

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing
  • 2-4 years of PR experience in an agency, brand or corporation
  • B2B or tech experience highly valued, but not required
  • Experience with executing on social media and digital content marketing tactics
  • Experience with Cision, Hootsuite, Harvest, social media advertising platforms, Hubspot, MailChimp, Google Analytics and/or SEM Rush a plus
