Writing about yourself is hard, y’all, especially when you write about others all day, every day. When I was asked to write my intro post, I naturally procrastinated.
Then, procrastination turned into the next natural thing these days: ChatGPT. Things I learned about myself from AI:
- My career started in journalism, working at a local CBS affiliate and as a managing editor of a community lifestyle magazine.
- I’m a proud grandma to a pack of spoiled puppies named Shannon.
- I also once worked on a farm where I learned how to drive a tractor.
Having no idea where this nonsense came from, it’s time to set the record straight. Here’s a little about me, Andrea Schulle, Sr. Media Relations Specialist here at Ketner Group.
From crafting unique narratives to securing major placements
I have a degree in Advertising from UT Austin (Hook ‘Em!), fueled by a dream of living the Mad Men lifestyle on Madison Avenue.
After a horrible internship, I quickly realized that wasn’t for me. So, I cut my communications teeth by going client-side, working on corporate communication teams.
I have been lucky to experience a variety of industries, from higher education to automotive (fun fact: I removed a windshield at Ford in Detroit!) to five years at a retail point-of-sale software company, and more.
I’ve managed and executed million-dollar communication budgets, braved the January chill in NYC to run a tradeshow at Javits, and secured placements in national magazines and radio shows.
At Ketner Group, I leverage my experience in retail tech to craft innovative and unique narratives that garner media attention for our clients. I have a knack for thinking outside the box and finding creative ways to tell our clients’ stories, ensuring they rise above the noise.
My personal passions, pride and joys
Away from the keyboard, you will find me playing a mean round of mahjong. I couldn’t help myself from jumping on the trend…the pretty colors and patterns, time with girlfriends, and it’s supposed to be good for your brain health.
I can also talk your ears off about anything food-related; you have been warned! But my biggest passion is my family. My husband and I are proud parents of a recent college graduate and a sophomore at Texas State. We also have a crazy red-headed mutt. Truly, they are my pride and joy.
Maybe if I had given ChatGPT these questions, I wouldn’t have changed careers, lived on a farm, and tended to a pack of grand puppies named Shannon!
COFFEE OR TEA: Coffee is a must in the morning! Hot tea is a passion.
BEACH OR MOUNTAINS: Mountains all day long. If the mountain has a lake, even better!
DINE OUT OR EAT IN: BOTH! Food is truly my love language.
FAVORITE COLOR: Navy blue.
FAVORITE VACATION SPOT: Too many to list, but my happy places are Ruidoso, NM and New Orleans, LA
GUILTY PLEASURE: Love is Blind, Love Island, or YA shows like TSITP. Don’t judge!
